As we continue our focus on the Expert Witness and Assessment Services division, it’s time to shine a light on the people who’re driving growth in this corner of our group. You’ve already met Sue Henry – now it’s time to take a look at our new divisional commercial director and check in with some of the other established brand leaders across the division.
You might be familiar with Caroline Arrowsmith as the former “Face of Speed Medical.” Since 2007, she’s operated as the company’s commercial director, operations manager, head of sales and first port of call for many of the brand’s customers:
“In my years at Speed, I was speaking to people, talking to customers, developing relationships. The company needed someone to look after key accounts, and I was that someone, bridging gaps between their goals and what we could deliver, and helping the company grow.”
That hands-on experience with discerning customers has really prepared Caroline for her new division-level role:
“It’s my mission to know and understand customers. What do they want from us? What do they really need? And how can we go above and beyond, every time, to make their life easier?”
“Relationships are the key to problem solving. They’re how we educate and reassure customers, how we identify and seize opportunities.”
It’s an approach that Caroline’s sure will work well – especially as she’ll be reuniting with a former Speed Medical colleague – divisional MD Sue Henry.
“Sue and I have grown together, and we’re naturally aligned on a lot of the ways we work. We both want handl Group’s companies to become nationally-recognised brands, both value honesty and openness, and both want to look at the big picture and the small details.”
A leader by example, she’s also known for a colourful turn of phrase.
“We’ve got to invest time and energy into people to grow the division, and we’ve got to define what success looks like. It’ll take a lot of hard work, like any business strategy. And it’s like I say – if you want a guarantee, buy a kettle.”
Sue and Caroline’s strategy focuses on taking each of the six brands of the Expert Witness & Assessment Services and finding which areas of specialisation they can zoom in on. It’s an approach that directors across the division’s brands are on board with.
Kim’s worked alongside both Sue and Caroline before, and speaks very highly of both. The feedback and insights they’ve offered in recent years has helped the company grow – and it’s this sharing of ideas that Kim is most looking forward to.
“It goes without saying that the best practice and idea sharing of the new divisional structure is going to be a great help. We’re keen on exploring internal collaborations to contribute to everyone’s success.”
“We’ve worked closely with Harrison Associates for some time, we’re exploring links with Foresight, and I’m sure there are still opportunities out there for us all to grow together.”
Over at Harrison Associates, Dilara Rogers shares Kim’s enthusiasm for collaboration. Especially under the division’s new leadership.
“Working with Sue and Caroline has always been rewarding. They’ve been pivotal in helping us deliver successful projects, and the culture of innovation and excellence they’ll build aligns perfectly with our direction here at Harrison Associates.”
That focus on excellence is key for Dilara and the team. As advocates for their clients’ best interests, they’re all about being meticulous, following the right processes, and being committed to balancing the needs of defendants and claimants.
“By working together, sharing best practices and expertise across our brands, we’ll be able to collectively enhance the quality of our services so we can deliver greater value to our clients.”
Having worked with Susan for over a decade and partnered repeatedly with Foresight over common interests in family law, Sarah’s certain that the new division will help Advanced SCS secure their position as market leader in social care services.
“We’re all interested in input from experienced minds to drive our strategic ambitions forward. Sue’s been an amazing mentor and coach, so I’m thrilled that I’ll still have her support.”
And the biggest impact of that support in the coming months? Sarah’s got a clear idea of what’s next:
“It’s going to make it much easier to collaborate and share ideas across our companies.”
It only seems fair to give the final word on the new Expert Witness & Assessment Services’ leadership team to Sam Hudson. As a long standing member of Speed Medical’s team, she’s very familiar with both:
“I’ve worked with Sue and Caroline for over 15 years. They’ve played a huge part in my growth – both professionally and personally – and I’m confident they’ll bring the strategic direction and commercial expertise that’ll fuel the growth of our business and the division as a whole.”
But Sam’s not just enthused about continuing to work with two people she respects – she’s excited by the chance to enhance her company by combining efforts, experience and expertise across the division in new ways.
“I’m looking forward to seeing them in action, how the division will take shape, and the benefits each brand will see as a result.” So are we, Sam. So are we.
