A time for giving: how handl Group’s brands are helping great causes this Christmas

Christmas is a time for giving. So we’re delighted to see how brands from across handl Group have embraced the spirit of the season to donate their time, money, sweat and tears for good causes all over the country.

From Christmas plays and expert advice to crawling through freezing mud and filling trolleys, here’s how our brands have helped great causes throughout 2023:

Cogent Hire – His Provision

As a different kind of Credit Hire company, Cogent Hire are all about collaboration. About bringing people together. That’s true after a road traffic accident, and it’s true when they learn about a good cause. MD Kirsty McKno has brought her team together to record a Christmas nativity to raise awareness for Blackpool-based charity His Provision.

His Provision aims to end food poverty through their food pantry and bus which distribute meals to families around the seaside town. The charity aims to raise £500 this year, but with Cogent Hire’s help, we’re sure they’ll raise far more.

Corporé – Child Brain Injury Trust

Corporé don’t shy away from a challenge when it comes to rehab and injury case management, and they don’t shy away from a challenge when it comes to doing their bit for charity.

Over the summer, 10 of the Corporé team put their minds and bodies through the wringer by competing in a Tough Mudder event. All that training and grit paid off, raising £1,385 for the Child Brain Injury Trust. Good work team!

MLA – Breast Cancer Research

It’s been a busy few months for MLA. Following their successful conference, they turned their attention to charity efforts and the annual Liverpool Santa 5k dash.

The team have currently raised £610 and counting, blowing well past their original goal of £450.

Reach – Calvert Reconnections

While rehabilitation experts Reach did their bit for the environment this year, helping clients and contacts plant trees, the company’s main focus is on people who’ve experienced traumatic brain injuries.

So it should come as no surprise that Reach founder Heather Batey has donated her time and expertise to the neuro-rehabilitation centre Calvert Reconnections this year, where she sits on the board of directors.

With over 30 years’ experience in assessing and rehabilitating patients, Heather’s expertise has aided Calvert Reconnections in helping people as they recover from brain injuries in a specially-adapted residential centre in the Lake District.

Speed Medical – Chorley Help the Homeless

Speed Medical haven’t wasted any time this year, helping out their local charities. By the time you read this, the team will have completed a trolley dash and auctioned off a signed England rugby ball donated by Allianz.

But that’s not all, in the summer they donated to Chorley Help the Homeless food bank to make sure local children didn’t go hungry during the long summer break. All told, Speed Medical have raised well over a thousand pounds for worthy causes this year – an incredible amount that will help a great many people.

Support Chorley Help the Homeless

We’d like to say a huge thankyou to everyone who’s supported a charity or donated this year. You’ve made the whole handl Group proud.
