Sarah Roddy joined handl Group as Speed Medical’s operations team manager in 2015. Quickly embracing the fundamentals of how the group’s businesses worked, Sarah uncovered a talent for leadership:

Speed Medical was my first real taste of leadership, overseeing operations teams, managing MedCo and General Reporting processes, and ensuring accurate reporting. This role taught me the fundamentals of teamwork, precision, and adaptability, setting the foundation for everything that followed.”

By 2016, Sarah had moved into finance, reporting to group CFO Ian Robins as Operations Finance Manager – balancing her analytic and commercial skills with the demands of motherhood.

After three years of learning how finance and operations work to drive growth and business success, Sarah moved to the Projects Team, completed her Prince2 Practitioner certification and managed a number of transformative IT projects.

It ignited my passion for technology and process improvement, teaching me how to blend technical solutions with user experience.”

By 2021, Sarah had developed enough to move into more senior roles with Speed Medical and the handl Group, first as Head of Supply for Speed, where she’d manage an expert panel of over 5,000 professionals.

A year later, she made the move to Advanced Child Care Assessments (ACCA) as Practice Manager and then General Manager, overseeing operations, sales, and panel management while witnessing firsthand the impact that ACCA could have on children, adults and families.

By 2025, Sarah’s commitment to personal development resulted in her promotion to Managing Director of Advanced Social Care Services (ASCS), overseeing the entire business, focusing on expansion and diversification while staying true to the company’s mission of supporting vulnerable individuals and families.

It’s a role that brings together everything she’s learned over the past decade, leadership, strategy, finance, technology, and above all, the human side of care.

A decade supported by the handl Group and a number of our other expert leaders.

Over these past ten years, I’ve had the privilege of learning from incredible leaders, Susan, Caroline, Sharon, Ian, Andy, and Sam, whose guidance has shaped me into the leader I am today. Each role, each challenge, and each opportunity has been a stepping stone toward acquiring the skills to run and effectively manage a business.”

“From operations to finance, projects to supply, and now leading my own entire business, my journey has been one of growth, resilience, and purpose. And as I look ahead, I remain committed to driving innovation, strengthening partnerships, and making a meaningful difference in social care.”
