An expert witness services specialist since 2006, Kim Morris had already made the jump into operations before becoming part of handl Group. Previously an Operations Director at a national mobility company, Kim combined her personal development with a new professional challenge:

I first worked alongside Colin Beacock before joining Tessa Gough Associates in 2011, initially focusing on costing reports. Supported by Colin, I completed a degree in Business Management and Finance – perhaps an early reflection of my ongoing drive to keep developing professionally.

In 2018, Kim joined Tessa Gough Associates’ business development team, where her strategic thinking and deep understanding of the expert witness sector quickly became invaluable to the company.

But not all challenges can be predicted – in 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic hit, creating new problems to overcome, and new opportunities for those best placed to tackle those problems head on. The deal to make Tessa Gough Associates part of the handl Group had just been finalised, and Kim was one of the people identified who could make the leap into a more senior role and lead the company forward even under challenging conditions.

I was the point of contact for staff and associates and clients during the COVID-19 pandemic, and in October 2021, became Clinical Operations Director. Working closely with Andy Moss, our Business Operations Director, we guided the business out of the pandemic and through a period of continued growth and operational development.”

While many businesses saw the pandemic as a time to reset and reassess their positions, Kim saw that Tessa Gough Associates didn’t need sweeping changes. It was simply a matter of focusing on what the business did best and making the right improvements at the right time.

Leading a new focus on the company’s core ethos – “we care” – and improving the business’ structure, processes and response times, Kim was able to create a new strategy around aligned goals.

One that won over stakeholders and helped put her into pole position for another career development.

In 2025, Kim was promoted to Managing Director, reflecting the hard work and application she’s shown over her time with handl Group, and rewarding her strategic vision as a key leader within her company.

It’s a promotion that recognises Kim’s qualities and contributions, and the momentum she’s helped to build for Tessa Gough Associates and her own career.

I’m unbelievably proud to be given the opportunity to lead Tessa Gough Associates as its Managing Director. The company has gone from strength to strength in recent years, and that’s credit to the hard work of the entire team – from support specialists and researchers to our expert witnesses – and the continued backing of handl Group.”
